Sage shines as Elkhart Christian downs Mishawaka in boys basketball

ELKHART — Weston Sage scored 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots as Elkhart Christian downed visiting Mishawaka 50-46 in boys basketball Monday.

The Eagles (3-2) soared to a 15-3 lead through one quarter. The Cavemen closed to within 36-35 entering the fourth quarter, before ECA finished off the win.

Ryan Charles added 12 points for the Class 1A hosts, who ended an eight-game skid against 4A opponents. Their last such wins came three seasons ago, when they won three such games.
