NorthWood sets youth football camp program




Memorial High School junior clinic: The Elkhart Memorial girls golf squad will be hosting a junior golf clinic for girls who have recently completed grades 5-8 within the EMHS school district. The sessions will run June 6-8 at Christiana Creek Country Club from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration/check-in will be done at 8:45 a.m. The cost is $5 per day. NorthWood Youth Camp: NorthWood High School football is planning its“Monday Night Football” program. Monday Night Football sessions are scheduled for June 13 and June 27. The camp is geared for boys entering grades 1-6 in the 2016-17 school year. The camp will focus on individual and group instruction and playing “the Black Crunch way.” The cost for the entire program is $35 per camper ($25 for each additional family member). Elkhart Central camp: The Blazer Volleyball camp is set for June 13-16. Girls entering grades 4-6 meet from 4 to 5 p.m. each day and girls entering grades 7-9 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Registration forms can be downloaded at


Sharpley Training camps: Sharpley Training in Elkhart is offering speed & agility camps (middle school and high school sessions), quarterback camps (middle school and high school) and elementary (grades 3-5) skills camps. Cost is $175 each or $300 for two camps.Each camp is three days for 90 minutes each day. Dates and times vary by groupings beginning June 7 and running through July 28.. There are also Dunes Day Saturdays available June 11, June 25, July 9, July 30 and Aug. 13. These are $30 each from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 14 and up at the Dunes State Park in Sawyer, Mich. Eastlake summer program: The Eastlake Athletic Clubs summer junior tennis program is planned for June 6-July 28, with no classes the week of July 4. Options include Player Development (ages 4-10) at Eastlake in Elkhart, Excel (11-14) at Concord Junior High and Competitive (high school players) at Concord Junior High. Classes are three to four days a week. Costs range from $13 for Player Development drop-ins to $80 weekly for Competitive. A 15 percent discount is offered for six weeks and up if paid by June 16. Concord Youth Soccer: The league is accepting registrations through May 31 for pre-K (age 4 by Aug. 1) through 12th grade. Players from all area schools are welcome. The season begins Aug. 1. Concord Aquatic Center classes: Summer swim lessons begin in June. Sessions offered include 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays June 6-17 or July 11-26 and 7:15 to 8:35 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays June 7 to July 14. Costs range from $36 to $60. There will also be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, qua fit classes from 8 to 8:45 a.m. June 6 to July 1 and July 11 to Aug. 5. Cost is $30. Tipping Point summer camps: A variety of summer clinics are offered by Tipping Point Basketball at the Elkhart Sports Center for third- through eighth-graders. Dates begin June 20 and continue through late July. Costs range from $130 to $195. For more information or to register, visit

Boys & Girls Club Goshen League: The Boys & Girls Club of Elkhart County-Goshen Club is again running the Goshen Neighborhood Basketball League. Students and 2016 graduates ages 13-18 of all skill levels are eligible. A $15 club membership is required. Games are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings June 7 to July 21 at Rogers Park in Goshen. Jerian Grant Camp: The ex-Notre Dame star and current New York Knick will conduct a camp June 3-5 at the Kroc Center in South Bend. Cost is $200. Ages 7-10 will be in session from 4 to 6 p.m. that Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday. Ages 11-14 go from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, then 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Elkhart Central youth camps: Elkhart Central summer youth camp offerings include basketball (June 6-9), football (June 7-9), track (Mondays and Thursdays June 6-July 18), volleyball (June 13-16), springboard diving (June 13-17) and cheer (June 13-17). Elkhart Sports Center Camp: Camps for girls and boys who would like to increase strength, flexibility, cheer knowledge and teamwork have been set for June.
