Northridge youth clinic: A baseball clinic for grades K through 8 is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, and Saturday, March 21, at Northridge High School (on the baseball field if weather permits, in the fieldhouse if it does not). Times on both Saturdays are 8:30 to 10 a.m. for grades K-3 and 10:30 a.m. to noon for grades 4-8. Registration begins 15 minutes before the start of the clinic. AAU Indiana Elite/Tipping Point Basketball: Boys tryouts for Rising 9th (current eighth-graders) and 10th grade are scheduled from 2 to 3:30 p.m., with Rising 11th and 12th grade from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15; Rising 9th and 10th grade from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; Rising 11th and 12th grade from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21; and girls tryouts for Rising 9th (current eighth-graders) through 12th grade from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 28, all at Elkhart Sports Center. Cost is $5 per tryout session.




Elkhart Adult Baseball League: Teams and players are being sought for the newly formed EABL. An umpire can earn $60 per game. Games will likely begin in mid-April. Deadline to enter a team is April 8 (cost $200 per team). Games will be played at various fields around the area on Sundays (makeup games may land on Saturdays). Baugo and Osolo Little Leagues have committed to host games. The EABL board will include one representative from each team. Elkhart Youth & Community Center Coed Spring Leagues: The EYCC (formerly the YMCA of Elkhart County) is registering players for the spring season. Age divisions are ages 3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-12 (subject to change based on registration numbers). Regular cost (through March 7) will be $60 and $90. Mandatory player evaluations are scheduled to begin March 11. Teams will practice one night per week, with games on Saturdays. A soccer clinic for all registered players is planned March 9-10.
