SOUTH BEND — Reduced priced tickets are on sale for a South Bend Cubs home game in August.

Granger Community Church is sponsoring the Aug. 8 game against the Great Lakes Loons to celebrate its 30th anniversary in the community. The Cubs are offering $3 tickets for the game available to anyone — not limited to members of the church.

In addition, the first 200 people through the gate that day will receive $5 in Cubs Cash to spend anywhere in the stadium. Gates for the game open at 6 p.m. and th first pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Joe Hart, president of the South Bend Cubs, said the promotion is a great way for Granger Community Church to thank the community.

“The folks at Granger Community Church are and have been great community partners over the past 30 years. They wanted to do something unique to give back,” he said. “They’re big fans of our ball club and all the changes we’ve made the past couple of seasons. We’re happy we have the chance to celebrate their anniversary with them.”

Mark Beeson, lead pastor at Granger Community Church, said the game offers a chance for families and church members to spend quality time together.

“It’s a great family opportunity to be together and celebrate,” he said.

Hart expects tickets to sell out quickly and suggests buying early. South Bend Cubs game tickets will be available at the Four Winds Field Box Office between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., by calling (574) 235-9988 or online at
