GOSHEN — Femi Hollinger-Janzen, a collegiate national champion and professional soccer player from Goshen, will speak at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Waterford Mennonite Church.

Hollinger-Janzen, who played high school soccer at Bethany Christian and helped Indiana University to a national title, will speak on his soccer career, his faith and his perseverance in overcoming a crippling leg deformity as a child. He will also answer questions from the audience.

Hollinger-Janzen was chosen in the MLS expansion draft by Minnesota on Tuesday, after playing his first professional season with the New England Revolution.

Advance reservations for the dinner are $20 for grades 7 and older and $10 for elementary school students. Pre-schoolers are free.

Reserve spots by Dec. 27 by calling the church at (574) 533-5642 or visiting www.waterfordchurch.org. Individuals may pay at the door for $25. Doors will open at 5:30, with opportunities for autographs. An autographed jersey will also be auctioned off.
