NOTRE DAME — Mike Brey is the first to admit that sometimes he can't believe how smoothly the switch has gone from becoming one of the most successful coaches in Big East basketball history to establishing himself as one of the best in the business as a skipper in the ACC.

Heading into Sunday's home game against Georgia Tech, the Notre Dame head coach has his Irish (21-7, 10-5) poised to finish anywhere from second to fifth in the final league standings, not bad for a team picked in the preseason to finish seventh in a league that is expected to send 10 teams to the NCAA Tournament
