NOTRE DAME —Irish junior quarterback Brandon Wimbush used the term "delayed gratification" this weekend when asked about the main theme and final mission of a spring football season that culminated Saturday with the Blue-Gold Game.

Wimbush was referring to the "delayed gratification" that Irish head coach Brian Kelly promises will come after the reinvention of this Notre Dame team is completed and the regular season opens Sept. 2 against Temple.
