NORWICH, Conn. (AP) -- Josh Pennington tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings, leading the Lowell Spinners over the Connecticut Tigers in a 4-2 win on Tuesday.
Gerson Bautista got Sam Machonis to fly out with a runner on first to end the game for his fourth save of the season.
Pennington struck out five and walked two while allowing two hits.
Lowell went up 2-0 in the third after Nick Lovullo hit an RBI single, scoring Chris Madera.
After Lowell added a run in the sixth on a single by Jerry Downs, the Tigers cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Tanner Donnels hit an RBI single and Josh Lester scored on a ground out.
The Spinners tacked on another run in the eighth when Tucker Tubbs hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Ryan Scott.
Dioscar Romero (3-0) got the win in relief while Connecticut starter Alfred Gutierrez (0-1) took the loss in the New York-Penn League game.
Donnels had three hits for the Tigers.
