SOUTH BEND — Derrick Woods appeared to enjoy the second half almost as much as he did the first half — no small feat given he had scored five touchdowns in that first half.

Woods and his fellow Elkhart first-stringers overwhelmed South Bend Washington to the tune of a 49-6 count by intermission, then remained on the sideline over the final two quarters with the running-clock rule in effect as the Lions completed a 57-6 high school football pounding of the Panthers on Friday night at TCU School Field.
