ELKHART — For the third straight year, Northern Lakes Conference rivals Concord and NorthWood will battle it out in the girls tennis regional.

Concord moved into the finals by beating Westview 4-1, while NorthWood posted a 4-1 win over Angola in Tuesday’s semifinals at Elkhart Central.

The title match begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Central.

The Minutemen got quick victories from Meaghan Godzisz at No. 2 singles, as well as No. 1 doubles  team of Lauren Pollock and Keegan Thursby, along with No. 2 doubles Kelsee O’Dell and Kaylee Price to clinch the match.

Concord’s Regan Landis battled for a tough 6-3, 6-4 victory over Westview’s Lauryn Riegsecker. Kelby Christner posted Westview’s only win, defeating Lauren Boessler 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Meanwhile, NorthWood made quick work of Angola, with only one match going three sets.

The Panthers won the three singles matches, with Reegan Miller (No. 1) and Gretchen Adams (No. 3) winning in two sets, while Alex Jesse won in three sets at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 1-6 and 7-5 over Angola’s Ellie Aldred.

NorthWood also got a win at No. 2 doubles, as the team of Caroline Mullet and Kate Stillson defeated Lizzie Gomez and Chloe Hutchins 6-0, 6-2.

Concord defeated NorthWood 5-0 in the regional finals last year and 5-0 in the semifinals in 2017. The Minutemen defeated NorthWood 4-1 during the regular season this year.
