Floyd named All-MAC

Nick Floyd

Jimtown High graduate Nick Floyd has been named Mid-American Conference first team all-conference as a relief pitcher for Ball State University.

Floyd finished his senior year with a record of 7-0 with a 2.19 ERA. He also saved five games for a Cardinal team that posted a 36-17 mark overall and a 20-5 record in the MAC – good enough for a second place finish. He struck out 48 hitters in 49 innings, while allowing just 17 walks.

Ball State will be seeded second in the MAC tournament behind regular season champ Central Michigan. The Cardinals will open the tournament Thursday in Avon, Ohio against the winner of the Northern Illinois-Miami (Ohio) game.
