MISHAWAKA — At the same time Mishawaka was regaining the services of an all-state senior quarterback, NorthWood was handing a sophomore quarterback his first varsity start.

The contrast was as stark as the styles the teams employed, and so was the margin on the scoreboard at times, but the Panthers refused to go quietly during a 40-20 high school football loss in their first-ever appearance Friday night at Steele Stadium.
