Misguided ads against Notre Dame's Kelly, Swarbrick amount to pointless venom

AP Photo/RVR Photos-USA TodayNotre Dame football coach Brian Kelly continues to come under fire.

NOTRE DAME — In the latest development to what might be best described as the forgettable football season that nobody seems willing to forget, the 4-8 misery was revived again this week and last with full-page advertisements in a couple area newspapers calling for the jobs of Irish head coach Brian Kelly and university athletic director Jack Swarbrick.

A group of disgruntled fans and alumni first pooled their money together for an advertisement in The Observer, the Notre Dame student newspaper, and headlined it with "Notre Dame Has Failed Under Jack Swarbrick." It also features a less-than-flattering photo and some harsh criticism of Kelly.
