The former Goshen College NAIA All-American and Eurocup MVP is on the Overseas Elite team looking to win a third straight title Thursday in The Basketball Tournament, featuring a $2 million purse to the winning club.

BALTIMORE — Goshen College graduate Errick McCollum hit five 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead Overseas Elite to an 81-77 victory over Boeheim's Army in the semifinals of The Basketball Tournament, helping to keep his team's hopes alive for a third straight title in the $2 million tournament.

Overseas Elite faces Team Challenge ALS, which surprised Scarlet & Gray 88-83 in overtime in the other semifinal. Casper Ware scored a game-high 28 for the winners.

The title game is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in Baltimore and will be broadcast live on ESPN.

McCollum, 29, has played overseas in Israel, Greece, China and Turkey since being an NAIA All-American for the Maple Leafs.

McCollum, the brother of Portland TrailBlazers' star guard C.J. McCollum and the all-time leading scorer at Goshen, was 5-of-7 from 3-point range in the semifinals, while adding four rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Overseas Elite is now 18-0 in the three years of the tournament and McCollum has shared in the prize money both of the last two years.

The inaugural tourney in 2014, won by the Notre Dame Fighting Alumni, featured a $500,000 purse, all to the winners. The pot grew to $1 million in 2015 and $2 million last year.
