WATERFORD MILLS — Bethany Christian’s starting freshman guard uncorked a career night, while Elkhart Christian Academy’s starting freshman guard saw his night corked in just 80 seconds.

With ninth-grader Tyson Chupp pouring in a career-high 23 points — all over the first three quarters — and with the Bruins responding resplendently to the Eagles’ second-half attempt at a triangle-and-two defense, Bethany roared to a 48-23 lead by midway through the third period on its way to a 60-53 win over ECA on Thursday evening at Buller Court.
