Helping women work safely during pregnancy benefits moms, babies and employers

As an obstetrician, state health commissioner, a mother and now grandmother, my passion is to attack Indiana’s infant mortality and maternal health issues from every front. In Indiana, we are fortunate to have the support of Gov. Eric J. Holcomb, who is committed to improving the health of our moms and babies. That is the foundation of his proposed legislation that would require reasonable accommodations in the workplace to help protect pregnant women.

Kristina Box, M.D., FACOG, is Indiana State Health Commissioner.
