Masks essential to protect students

I am writing to encourage and support that masks be required for Elkhart Community Schools. Tuesday's article in The Truth gave some alarming statistics: There is a growing number of COVID cases among students and staff in Indiana. With just one week of school started there are 1,452 new cases among students in Indiana, which is four times the previous week's rate. Among teaching and non-teaching staff, two times the number of cases in one week. Hospital cases in the state are up 380% since early July. That is not a typo — 380%.

To Dave Coyne,

I agree that Afghanistan was never going to be a free democratic republic without the USA propping it up. But the mess we are currently experiencing was not inevitable. I personally think we could have stayed and maintained our intelligence capability there. Now we will have none, and we're going to wish we did.

Well Ms Pulianas, how about we let the parents decide what is best for their children.
