I had the joy and privilege of watching my daughter participate in the first Unified Track Meet held at Rice Field on April 20. What an amazing event! I want to give a huge round of applause to all the students, staff, and administrators involved in making the event happen.

A very special thanks to the Central and Memorial students who ran, threw and jumped beside the special athletes like my daughter. I hope you know what a powerful, positive impact your encouragement, support and involvement made not only on the participants, but on their families. How fast they ran, how far they jumped or threw didn’t matter. All that mattered was the chance to try. My daughter said it perfectly: ”I did it!”
