People's Forum: Thanks for making downtown Elkhart more accessible

I find it very distressing that while the Christian church, with nary a peep in opposition, tolerates the squandering of trillions of federal tax dollars for war and its subsequent expenses, it quibbles, and splits over the rights of the 5 percent (plus or minus) of the population that shares a love for one another in less traditional ways.

And of equal astonishment, the church quibbles and splits on the assumed authority of the most obscure passages in a book thousands of years old. This old book’s oft irrelevance is apparent from the fact that the church conveniently ignores many of the most obvious commands regarding giving, sharing resources, healing, etc. that one would think should be of equal validity as the passages referring to non-traditional love and marriage relationship.
