Weather, intoxication blamed in rollover

MIDDLEBURY — Weather conditions and intoxication were cited in a rollover crash late Saturday that injured the driver.

According to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling east on S.R. 120 just east of S.R. 13 at 11:31 p.m. when the 18-year-old driver failed to reduce speed and slid off the south side of the road, rolling twice.

Weather conditions played a role in the crash, police said. Elkhart County was under a winter weather advisory on Saturday.

The driver, Lance Lennen of Fremont, was transported to Parkview LaGrange Hospital for hand pain. He was wearing a seat belt, the police report said.

Officers said Lennen was found to be driving while intoxicated.
