Truck stolen from Bristol early Sunday found submerged in Michigan lake

BRISTOL — A pickup truck stolen from the Bristol area, during the early morning hours of Sunday, was found hours later under water in Michigan.

The owner of the 2011 Ford F-250 King Ranch Edition truck told Michigan State Police investigators that he had last seen it around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Around 7:20 a.m., the state police received reports that the truck was submerged in Corey Lake, which is about 20 miles north of Bristol in St. Joseph County, Mich.

The seats and stereo system had been removed from the truck before it was driven into the water from a public access boat launch, a Michigan State Police press release says. No suspect information was available Monday.

The St. Joseph County, Mich., Sheriff's Department, Three Rivers Ambulance/Rescue and Fabius-Park Fire Department helped pull the truck out of the water.
