ELKHART— School districts in Elkhart County are beginning to examine ways to safely reopen this fall following guidance recently released by the Indiana Department of Education.

The state released a 38-page guidance document on June 5 providing a series of recommendations for how K-12 schools can resume in the fall after closing in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the final decision is left to the schools.
