Ross gets 40 more years

James Ross Jr.

ELKHART — A Goshen man already sentenced to 130 years in prison for two murders had another 40 years added to his sentence Thursday for a non-fatal shooting.

James Ross Jr., 28, was given the maximum sentence after being convicted of attempted murder, a Level 1 felony, at trial in late February. The jury found him guilty of shooting a 20-year-old man in an alley near Mary Beck Elementary School on Oct. 17, 2016, after lying in wait in the man's backyard.
