Police asking for help in 7-Eleven robbery

Police in Elkhart are looking for a man they believe robbed a 7-Eleven store, 2700 S. Main St., on May 16.  

ELKHART — Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected in a robbery at the 7-Eleven, 2700 S. Main St.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at 11:07 p.m. May 16 in regards to a robbery. It was reported that a black male approximately 50 years old, 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 11 inches, wearing a blue baseball cap and blue sweats, took money out of the cash register.

After grabbing the money, the man left the store on foot northbound, some witnesses said. 

Detective Ryan Weir with the Elkhart Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying the subject in the surveillance photo. Anyone with information can contact Weir at 574-389-4761.

This fellow is a real piece of work. After staring into the camera, he went ahead and robbed the store anyhow. Typically, photos are quite blurry. Not the case here. He shouldn't too difficult to I.D.
