Organizers launch Elkhart River water quality program 1

The Elkhart River is a 48-mile tributary of the St. Joseph River.

GOSHEN — Anyone who lives, works, farms or plays in the Lower Elkhart River Drainage has been invited to share their perspectives on the river and its related lakes, streams and watershed. Suggestions are sought on water quality or quantity, land use, stream and lake quality, recreation or other topics.

The new project, which aims to develop a step-by-step plan for improvements, will host its first public drop-in meeting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 16 at the Shrock Pavilion at Shanklin Park, 411 W. Plymouth Ave., Goshen.
