NAPPANEE — The parks department in Nappanee is planning for substantial growth in the coming years, redesigning each of seven parks with its own unique properties.

“In the past, parks have been not prioritized,” parks superintendent Chris Davis said. “I think Mayor (Phil) Jenkins has really put the emphasis back on the parks. It’s certainly a regional, if not national trend. People want to see what kind of amenities a town can offer and that certainly includes parks, trails and programming.”
