ELKHART — Staying vocal is key to ensuring racial justice is strengthened in the community, local activists and leaders said Thursday, one month since the death of George Floyd sparked a nationwide movement calling for police reforms.

Since Floyd’s death in Minneapolis at the hands of a white police officer on Memorial Day, local activists have joined the movement by participating in summits and peaceful demonstrations against police brutality and systematic racism.
