BRISTOL — A head-on crash on S.R. 15 south of C.R. 112 south of Bristol send both drivers to the hospital Tuesday morning after one of the drivers veered left of center.
The accident occurred at 8:02 a.m. about a mile south of Bristol, according to a report from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
Joshua Cochran, 33, of Bristol was driving a 2004 Buick Ranier south on S.R. 15, while Linda Ramundo, 58, of Middlebury was traveling north in a 2014 Subaru Impreza.
Police said the Buick went left of center and struck the Subaru head on. The Buick flipped on impact and landed on its roof, according to the report.
Both drivers had be extricated from their vehicles and were transported to Elkhart General Hospital. Cochran suffered head, chest, abdominal and right-wrist injuries. Ramundo suffered left leg and ankle injuries and injuries to both wrists.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said.
Cochran was cited for going left of center.
