Goshen police chase ends south of New Paris

NEW PARIS — A 21-year-old Goshen man was arrested Saturday after leading Goshen Police on a car chase through the southern part of Elkhart County, according to the Goshen Police Department.

Police said the pursuit began at C.R. 17 and C.R. 30 west of Goshen. The chase lasted for at least 15 miles, until Dashon Z. Wingo was stopped and arrested at U.S. 6 and S.R. 15 south of New Paris around 6 p.m. 

Wingo had a handgun in his possession but did not have a permit to carry it, police said.

He was taken to the Elkhart County Jail and is charged with resisting with a motor vehicle and possession of a handgun without a permit.
