ELKHART — Nearly $15 million in grants awarded to six projects in Elkhart County will help create the kind of place people want to work and live, community leaders say.

The South Bend-Elkhart Regional Development Authority approved Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) funding Monday for 19 quality-of-life projects in three counties totaling about $40 million.
