Driver in car chase gets away on foot after malfunction

GOSHEN  — A driver led Goshen Police on a chase during the early hours of Wednesday, May 1, according to the Goshen Police Department.

About 2:01 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for an equipment violation near the intersection of C.R. 17 and Rieth Boulevard, police said.  

The driver of the vehicle, a dark colored Volkswagen passenger car, then fled from the officer.

When the car had an equipment malfunction, the driver abandoned it and fled on foot, according to police.

The VW was impounded, but the driver has yet to be identified.
