County prepared to launch drug court

Elkhart County Prosecutor Vicki Becker speaks to the county council Saturday about the drug court program.

GOSHEN — A coordinator is in place for the Elkhart County Drug Court and the program may start accepting participants before the end of the year.

Tara Paiano has been hired to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Superior Court 4 program and will serve as the first case manager for participants. She was previously the director of a similar program, which is sometimes referred to as problem-solving court, in St. Joseph County.

If the participants are required to be gainfully employed, how are they going to attend all of the meetings ,testing, classes, ect...They better have an understanding employer.
