Bristol man injured in hit-and-run

PORTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Bristol man was injured Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Porter Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Erick Prouty, 30, was driving west on U.S. 12 near Sunset Boulevard at approximately 8:35 a.m., when he was forced off the road by an east bound vehicle that was illegally passing another vehicle in a curve, police said.

Prouty attempted to maintain control of his truck but was unable to do so, and his truck exited the roadway and rolled, according to police.

He was helped out of his truck by witnesses and was transported to a hospital via ambulance. Police said he was wearing a seat belt. 

The other vehicle involved in the crash did not stop.
