2 project managers join Ancon
GOSHEN — Ancon Construction recently added two project managers to its management team.
D. Lucas Landis is a graduate of Goshen College with a B.A. in English/Communications. Landis is certified by GBCI as a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction. His construction management experience includes major new construction and renovation projects in various industries including healthcare, hospitality, schools and telecommunications.
Christopher Morrical is a graduate of Huntington University, with a B.S. in Mathematics Education. He recently completed projects for manufacturing, churches, and retail clients. Morrical is also involved in several community service organizations including serving as a Volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate with Elkhart County CAPS, and a volunteer Teacher with Junior Achievement, as well as serving as a volunteer mission worker at an orphanage in India.
Ancon’s Project Managers are responsible for the overall management of a project, leading the construction team in value engineering, scheduling, design analysis, budgeting and cost estimating, as well as throughout the construction and closeout phases of projects.
Ancon is a design-build construction firm with in-house engineering and architectural services, serving Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan for over 41 years. Ancon also work directly with architects on traditional plan and spec projects.
Equalizer hires Kimes as sales manager
ELKHART — Equalizer Systems, a division of Days Corp. in Elkhart, has announced the hiring of Mike Kimes as sales manager.
Kimes, of Sturgis, Mich., joined Equalizer Systems on May 30 and comes from a 24-year career as the store manager of Boland’s Best-One Tire. He will be managing and overseeing inside and outside sales staff, sales in all sectors while also providing a high level of organization and structure to the department at Equalizer Systems, the company said.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity to join Equalizer Systems and a knowledgeable sales team with years of experience. My mission is to manage and support in all aspects of my position to further develop strong growth opportunities here at Equalizer Systems,” Kimes said.
Equalizer Systems is a manufacturer of electric and hydraulic power-lifting and leveling systems.
Elkhart Meadows receives designation
ELKHART — American Senior Communities has designated 12 of its memory care centers, including Elkhart Meadows, as a Purple Butterfly Memory Care Center of Distinction, recognizing these communities as a superior provider of Memory Care Services.
Memory care centers must meet state and federal standards in providing 24-hour care for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. To qualify for the Purple Butterfly designation, Elkhart Meadows has surpassed those standards; delivering enhanced services to provide a higher quality of life for residents and offering a broad range of support for families and other caregivers.
Elkhart Meadows is located at 2600 Morehouse Drive in Elkhart.
