Bicyclist injured after colliding with car

ELKHART — A bicyclists suffered a head injury after colliding with a car on C.R. 9 north of C.R. 32 about 4 miles south of Elkhart.

The crash occurred about 2:28 p.m. Friday, according to a report from Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Allen Nolt, 72, of Goshen was traveling on a bicycle north on C.R. 9 on the right shoulder. A 2015 Kia Optima driven by Brittaney Quesinberry, 29, of Elkhart also was traveling north on C.R. 9.

Investigators said Nolt failed to signal a left turn into a private driveway and collided with the passenger side of the Kia.  

Nolt, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Elkhart General Hospital, the report said. 

No enforcement action was taken at the scene, and the crash remained under investigation, according to police.
