GOSHEN —  A Goshen man lost his life Sunday afternoon in an accident with an ultra-glide aircraft.

The crash occurred at 2:14 p.m., Sunday, May 6 at a residence in the 17000 block of C.R. 34. 

According to a press release issued by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Lavern “Jim” Miller, 71, was attempting to taxi the aircraft prior to the crash. The plane collided with an overhead door.

Miller was not airborne at the time of the crash.

The Elkhart County Coroner’s office assisted with the investigation and ruled the death accidental and the cause of death from multiple blunt force trauma, according to police.
