Polling place workers said voters were in line by 5 a.m. Nov. 3 to vote at Jimtown High School. Election officials said nearly 380 votes for Baugo Township school board were rejected because voters cast ballots for more than one candidate in a district.

ELKHART — Nearly 380 votes were rejected in the Baugo school board race due to voters casting ballots for multiple candidates running in the same district, a race that removed an incumbent, according to county election officials.

Baugo’s vote language states that voters may vote for no more than two candidates, and no more than one from any district. This year, five candidates were running from three different districts – two candidates in District 1, two candidates in District 2, and one candidate in District 3.
