ELKHART — A woman who was severely injured in an April 2019 crash along with her infant daughter is suing the Elkhart Police Department, which was chasing the vehicle that struck her head-on.

Brittany Wilson accuses the City of Elkhart and several police officers of negligence for their role in the crash as well as the policies that allowed the high-speed pursuit on April 23, 2019, to happen. Authorities say she suffered numerous broken bones and punctured organs, including her spleen which had to be removed, and was placed in a medically induced coma following the crash, which happened in the intersection of John Weaver Parkway and C.R. 10.

Are they suing the driver of the car that actually caused the crash? Or just the city and police for a money grab?
