Happy ElkHEART Holidays mask

The City of Elkhart is giving away 25,000 masks, along with hand sanitizer and COVID-19 guidelines for its Happy ElkHEART Holidays campaign.

ELKHART — Less than two weeks before Christmas, the City of Elkhart began handing out 25,000 bags with COVID-19 mitigation advice, a bottle of hand sanitizer and a mask saying “Happy ElkHEART Holidays.”

The bill, covered by the federal government, was for nearly $83,000.

Typical Henke response and care...more for profit than care....We are in a pandemic...masks save lives and helps stop the spread...so instead of giving masks away as a public benefit...Henke thinks we should sell them.....Remember that when he is up for election...cares more about making a few people money than the public's health....disgusting.

A mask is needed by all of us that care about the health of others. I appreciate making face masks available for everyone. The hand sanitizer is another step in keeping us safe. Now all we have to do is make the right decisions when it comes to group gatherings.

This is what is wrong with government. Waste of taxpayers money. This money could have bought a lot food for people in need.
