The public is invited to two meetings about a proposed railroad overpass at Hively Avenue.

ELKHART — Residents and business owners excited or concerned about the proposed railroad overpass at Hively Avenue can learn more at two upcoming events.

The purpose of the virtual public meeting and open house is to provide an opportunity to learn about and comment on the proposed 0.5-mile Local Trax Railroad Overpass on the southeast side of Elkhart. The project limits extend from Bismark Avenue to Hazel Street and extend to crossing streets including Monger Avenue, Morton Avenue, Roosevelt Avenue, Homer Avenue, Main Street, Garden Boulevard, Norfolk Southern Railway, Sterling Avenue, Eddy Street, Hammond Avenue, Lowell Avenue and Warren Street.
