C.R. 29 closing at bridge over U.S. 6 near New Paris on Monday

NAPPANEE — A major bridge replacement project will close C.R. 29 at U.S. 6 beginning next week.

The Indiana Department of Transportation is constructing a new 95-foot bridge carrying C.R. 29 over U.S. 6 beginning Monday, weather permitting, through sometime in early October. InDOT awarded a $2.3 million contract for the project to Superior Construction.

Local detours will be posted for traffic on C.R. 29 while the crossing is closed throughout the project. Traffic will be maintained on U.S. 6 in both directions, although motorists should watch for slow traffic in the area and flaggers directing traffic at times.
