MIDDLEBURY — Pam Bingaman knew a donation was coming. She didn't realize how much she had to make room for Tuesday.

Bingaman, who oversees the Middlebury Food Pantry, welcomed nearly $3,500 worth of food goods provided by a Northridge High School fundraiser.

Raider football coaches Tom Wogomon and Mike Logan, along with nearly 40 football players, loaded cartons of food products into trucks early Tuesday morning and delivered them to the food pantry by 8 a.m.

"Oh, my. This is huge," Bingaman said. "This will fill up our upstairs."

Players canvassed Middlebury neighborhoods for food or money donations from the community. They were able to fill a small cargo trailer and four pickup trucks with products.

"The kids did it all," said Logan. "We just set them loose in the neighborhoods. It took them all of seven to 10 days."
