MIDDLEBURY— Dr. Keith Barkow has been named the Crystal Valley Exchange Club of Middlebury Book of Golden Deeds Award winner of 2018.
Barkow is being recognized for his outstanding service and contribution to the local community, according to club officials.
“The greater Middlebury Community is a better place because of the work and commitment of Dr. Barkow,” club officials said in a news release.
The club stated that Barkow has contributed to the community in many ways, which include volunteering as a team physician at Northridge High School and being a member of Cristal Valley Exchange Club both since 2000; serves on the Greenloft Middlebury board, he has volunteered at the Middlebury Food Pantry for many years; has coached little league, upwards basketball and youth soccer; has been a faithful worker at the Exchange Club Taco Stand at the 4-H fair; has served on the Crystal Valley Exchange Club formerly as the president and currently as a board member.
Barkow is a physician specializing in family practice at Goshen Physicians Family Medicine Middlebury. He has been practicing medicine in Middlebury since 2000, treating everyone from birth to elderly patients. He includes the full range of family practice encompassing all conditions, including obstetrics and sports medicine, according to Goshen Health's website.
He has been married to his wife, Diana Barkow, for 24 years. They have three children, Katherine, Emily and Matthew.
As this year’s recipient, Barkow will be honored at the Book of Golden Deeds award banquet at 6:30 p.m. May 3 at the Essenhaus Inn & Conference Center in Middlebury.
The entire community is invited to the awards banquet. Tickets are available from any Crystal Valley Exchange Club member.
