ELKHART — For members of The Woof Group, the Dr. Frank Booth Dog Park is about more than having a place to let their dogs get their zoomies out.

When Barney Ash became a member of the park three years ago, it was a mostly unused fenced-in area just north of High Dive Park. The park had eight members, and Ash would often be the only one there, he said. A wish to have more people and dogs around laid the foundation for The Woof Group, which Ash started to help make the park and convenient, safe and fun place to visit.
