GOSHEN — Many veterans who use the VA clinic in Goshen will have to seek care in St. Joseph County starting in April.

The VA Northern Indiana Health Care System announced the closure of the clinic on March 31. The Goshen Community Based Outpatient Clinic at 2606 Peddlers Village Road will close while VA Northern Indiana pursues a new government-operated clinic, said Alex Sharpe, public affairs officer.

This closing irritates me only because it isn't necessary. There is plenty of money to send congressional folks to foreign countries. There is plenty of money for congressional folks to support their attempt to stay in office. There is plenty of money to spend on foolishness and folly. But not enough money to maintain the health and welfare of the men and women who defended our country. I really have trouble understanding the priorities our government chooses. This little clinic saves a lot of veterans a lot of money and time. It should be kept open and serving.

Just another slap in the face to our veterans. Thanks Brandon…

What are you.....6? Brandon? Frivilous... Mishawaka has a newer facility... Ft. Wayne is 1.5 hours away. You can't have one in every city.... We are lucky we have one in Mishawaka to go to...
