GOSHEN — A bid to allow alcohol at special events in Goshen parks failed despite changes made to allay the fears of city council members and residents.

Goshen Common Council voted 4-3 on Tuesday against allowing alcohol to be used during the rental of park property for events like weddings. They did so even after approving a number of amendments to require certified servers, security and insurance, as well as attaching an expiration date.
