Apartment planners seek financing agreement with city

Mayra and father Jose Garcia speak to the Goshen Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday.

GOSHEN — The city can negotiate financing with the developers of a new apartment complex after a vote by the Goshen Redevelopment Commission.

The board voted Tuesday to let city staff try to work out an agreement with Greenwood Rental Properties LLC, which plans to build a complex with 60 market-rate apartments at the corner of Plymouth and Indiana avenues. The estimated $11.5 million project would meet a keenly felt need for housing in the city, supporters argued.
