GOSHEN — Township fire officials hope to get help with million-dollar budget shortfalls they’re projecting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fire chiefs from Concord and Baugo townships each made their case Monday for receiving an appropriation of American Rescue Plan funds from the county. They spoke to the Elkhart County Board of Commissioners after first approaching the County Council and the commissioners in May.
