GOSHEN — County officials have postponed until October a decision on rezoning 850 acres of Benton Township farmland for a solar power installation.

The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners on Monday voted to table the request from Savion LLC for a zone map change that would enable the construction of a 100-megawatt solar facility. The solar panel farm would generate power that would be used locally as well as feeding into the regional energy grid.
