GOSHEN — The county hopes to get a bridge replacement finished in time to handle the detours that are sure to come with the Dunlap railroad overpass project.

The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners on Monday voted to ratify a utility exception letter ahead of the replacement of the Mishawaka Road bridge over Yellow Creek. The $3 million, partly federally funded project is expected to start in March and be completed by late October, according to County Administrator Jeff Taylor.
